Random pair generator for gift exchanges

Create a complete giver-to-recipient assignment for family, friends or a team. Everyone draws one different person, everyone receives one giver, and individual results stay behind private links.

What “pairs” mean in a gift draw

This generator creates directional gift pairs: one person is the giver and another is their recipient. It does not split the group into isolated two-person teams. In a group of six, it creates six giver-to-recipient assignments so everyone prepares one gift and receives one gift.

  1. 01

    Enter all participants

Add between 2 and 180 names, one per line. Names are enough; the service does not require participant accounts, phone numbers or email addresses.

  2. 02

    Exclude unwanted matches

Optionally prevent couples, household members or last year’s matches from drawing one another. The generator checks whether all rules can coexist.

  3. 03

    Generate a fair assignment

The algorithm prevents self-draws and duplicate recipients. It saves the result only when a complete valid assignment exists—never a partial draw.

  4. 04

    Share results separately

Send each participant their own private address. A person sees only who they should buy for and that recipient’s wishlist, not the full assignment.

Built for real groups

When an online pair draw works best

Christmas and Secret Santa

Reduce a large family or friends’ exchange to one thoughtful present per person without revealing who drew whom.

Workplace exchanges

Pair colleagues without another account system. Use announcements and polls to settle the budget, place and exchange date.

Remote communities

Distribute private results through any messenger and let participants add wishlist links from wherever they are.

FAQ

Pair draw questions

Does the generator create mutual two-person pairs?

No. It creates gift assignments: every participant receives one person to buy for, and every participant is assigned to exactly one giver. The relationships do not have to be mutual.

Can the same recipient appear twice?

No. A valid draw assigns every recipient exactly once and prevents every participant from drawing themselves.

Can I prevent selected people from matching?

Yes. Add pair exclusions before generating results. If the rules make a complete assignment impossible, the form explains which exclusions should be reduced.

Is the pair generator free?

Yes. Pair generation, private participant links, exclusions, wishlists, polls and announcements are available without payment or registration.
